Guest lecture series in autumn term 2014

The Korean Studies Section at Stockholm University cordially invites you to a talk about Korean children’s literature with Won Yousoon.

Won Yousoon is one of the most prolific and respected writers of books for children in Korea. She has published about 70 works of children’s fiction and 20 picture story books. Her writing is mostly set in the contemporary Korean society and is based on her long-term experiences as a primary school teacher. Having earning a PhD degree in Creative Writing at Dankook University, Won Yousoon also teaches courses in Creative Writing for Children at her alma mater. Presently, Won Yousoon is spending three months in Stockholm sponsored by the Residency program of the Korean Arts Council. In her talk at Stockholm University on November 26, 2014, she will give an overview on Korean children’s literature and her own works. Besides stories, Won Yousoon will also introduce a few children’s songs. Passages from her works will be read in Korean as well as in Swedish and English translation.
