Previous research

In my dissertation I examine three of the Quebec writer Anne Hébert’s novels in light of Luce Irigaray's philosophy. I show for instance how Irigaray’s concept of mimesis reveals both a subversive and a conservative force in Hébert's work

Current research

I am interested in the representation of parenthood in 21st Century literature. My current research project concentrates on French and Swedish mother-narrative novels (2000- ). Amongst the questions I analyze are the transition to motherhood, the place that the fathers are given in the stories, the manifestation of mental illness and the metaphors used to describe pregnancy and child birth.
