Getting to the University
There are a number of airports in the wider Stockholm area, including Arlanda, Skavsta, Västerås and Bromma, as well as extensive rail, bus and tram networks. Read on for more detailed directions to the main Frescati campus, located north of the city of Stockholm.

By air
There are a number of airports in the wider Stockholm area, including Arlanda, Skavsta, Västerås and Bromma.
Arlanda Airport is the main Stockholm airport and is situated 40 kilometres north of the city centre.
There is a regular coach service, run by the bus company Flygbussarna, between Arlanda Airport and Stockholm’s central station. The journey takes about 35 minutes. More information and prices are available from the bus company website: www.flygbussarna.se
There is also a fast train service called Arlanda Express, which runs between Arlanda and the central station in Stockholm. More information and prices are available on the Arlanda Express website: www.arlandaexpress.com
Journey by taxi from Arlanda to Stockholm usually costs about SEK 400-500. Taxis are generally available outside of the airport building.
Skavsta Airport is situated 1 hour and 20 minutes south of Stockholm. There is a regular coach service between Skavsta and the central station in Stockholm.

Västerås Airport lies 1 hour and 15 minutes north-west of Stockholm. There are some buses from Västerås airport, though they run rather infrequently. The cost is the same as travel from Skavsta. See www.flygbussarna.se for details.
Bromma Airport is a smaller airport located close to the city centre with flights to a limited number of destinations. More information is available on the airport's website. www.brommaairport.se
By public transport
Underground trains:
You can travel by the metro (underground/tube) from the central station in Stockholm (T-centralen). Take the red line northbound to Mörby Centrum and get off at the station ‘Universitetet’. The journey takes about 10 minutes.
By bus:
Take bus numbers 40, 70, 540 and 670 to the University (Get off at 'Universitetet norra' for the main campus). Tickets must be bought before travel.
