The best subjects ranked at Stockholm University within the top one hundred are Geography (39) followed by Environmental Studies (40), Sociology (49), Natural Sciences (69) and Art and Humanities (80). Archaeology, Anthropology, Philosophy, Earth & Marine Sciences, Communication & Media Studies, Linguistics, Chemistry and Economics are placed in the top 100 (51-100).

Ranks universities from around the world

The latest edition of the QS World University Ranking includes over 950 universities from 84 different countries. Stockholm University is ranked 195 this year, one place higher than the previous year. The top ranked university is Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), followed by Stanford University and Harvard University.

Academic reputation

The QS Rankings are published annually by the British firm Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The QS World University Ranking is based on six indicators where academic reputation is the most important (40 percent). The other indicators are reputation among employees, citations per faculty, student-to-faculty ratio, percentage of international students and percentage of international scientists.
