The ratio of newly installed female university professors was 34 percent in 2006 and 29 percent the following year. In 2008 and 2009 this ratio was higher (49 and 41 percent, respectively), but subsequently dropped during 2010 to a ratio of 34 percent for the year up until September. The total ratio for female professors was 22 percent in 2006 and 27 percent in 2010 (for the year up until September).

"We are looking to see if there are more female associate professors who could become qualified for promotion to professor if they were to be given extra research time. If this is the case there may well be a new similar initiative to the previous one. The departments should also be aware of the opportunities to recruit more female guest professors and more female non-tenure professors," says Vice-Chancellor Kåre Bremer.
