More housing for exchange students
This year Stockholm University is able to offer an additional seventy new student apartments for exchange students, bringing the current total to 408.
Stockholm University has recently signed an agreement with Kungsleden AB which means that the University has access to a total of ninety-six student apartments in Kista. Seventy of these can be used from the beginning of the spring semester whilst the remainder will be leased from the autumn. The contract is for three years, with the option of renewal.
The seventy new apartments mean that Stockholm University is able to offer accommodation to all foreign exchange students this semester. However, due to the more substantial number of students coming to Stockholm University to study during the autumn semester, it is not certain that the University will be able to guarantee housing for all new exchange students arriving after the summer break.
Stockholm University has currently 408 apartments for exchange students and from mid-February, another twenty-five apartments will be available, bringing the total to 433 apartments.
Orientation day for international students
On Monday, January 18th Student Services hold a Orientation day for foreign exchange students and Master's students, where participants receive information about Stockholm University and what it is like to study here. About 260 exchange students are expected to arrive for the spring term, along with around 100 Master's students.
Together with those who arrived in Stockholm the previous semester, there are around 450 exchange students studying at Stockholm University during the 2010 spring term.
