Stockholm County Council to offer free flu vaccinations
Stockholm County Council estimates that vaccination against the new influenza A(H1N1) can be initiated in early October. The influenza vaccination is to be offered free of charge to all patients living permanently in Stockholm County.
Those at risk of becoming seriously ill from the new flu, such as those with certain chronic diseases, are to be offered the vaccination first. According to a decision made by the board of the County Council on August 31, the vaccination against influenza is to be offered free of charge to patients. The offer applies to all who live and reside permanently in Stockholm County.
Students registered outside Stockholm county
The County Council will not charge other county councils for the cost of vaccinating patients from other counties. This means that the vaccination will also be free to people living in Stockholm County but registered elsewhere.
Foreign students, researchers and teachers
People from other countries who are permanent residents in Stockholm County will not have to pay for the vaccination against influenza. This category includes, for example, foreign students and visiting scientists.
The vaccine will be administered at health clinics, doctor's receptions and vaccination clinics. Updated information about vaccination can be found at http://www.vardguiden.se/Sjukdomar-och-rad/Influensa/In-English/ or via telephone: +46 (0)8 320 100.
