Term dates for academic year 2009/2010

The Vice-Chancellor recently passed a resolution regarding the arrangement of the academic year 2009-2010. The autumn term 2009 will run from 22 August-23 December 2009, and 1-16 January 2010. The 2010 spring term runs from 17 January 2010 to 5 June 2010.

Autumn term 2009:
22 August 2009 – 16 January 2010 (with a break between 23 December 2009 to 1 January 2010)

Spring term 2010:
17 January 2010 - 5 June 2010

These dates are generally applicable throughout the University. However Heads of Department can give special dispensation for teaching to take place outside of the normal term time.

Applications for Master's programmes starting autumn term 2009
The final date for applications from international students to study Master's programmes at Stockholm University starting autumn term 2009 is 15th January 2009.

Applications for Master's programmes starting spring term 2010
The final date for applications from international students to study Master's programmes starting spring term 2010 is 1 August 2009.

There can in some cases be exceptions to this dates, as the Vice-Chancellor can, upon request, allow alternative application dates for certain study programmes.
