Faculty of Humanities
The focus of humanities is humankind as cultural animal. The Faculty of Humanities consists of around twenty departments and centres covering over fifty different subject areas: history, language, archaeology, the arts and many others. There are over 10,000 students studying at the Faculty, and over 1,000 members of staff. This makes the Faculty of Humanities at Stockholm University the largest humanities faculty in Sweden.
Faculty of Law
The Faculty of Law is governed by the Faculty Board and headed by the Dean. Research and education are conducted by the Department of Law, which is the largest law school in Sweden, with approximately 3,000 students. In addition, some 180 international students study law every year as either postgraduate students or undergraduate students within the Socrates/Erasmus Programme, or other bilateral exchange programmes.
Faculty of Science
The Faculty of Science at Stockholm University is Sweden’s largest faculty of mathematics and natural sciences, and the departments of the Faculty of Science can lay claim to many widely recognised discoveries and scientific breakthroughs. Links between research and teaching are strong at the Faculty and the proportion of researchers who actively teach is high.
Faculty of Social Sciences
At the Faculty of Social Sciences research serves as a basis for teaching and for theoretical development. The Faculty has a particularly distinguished track record in the areas of economics, sociology, psychology and anthropology. Active research is carried out at several research institutes, and is dedicated to areas such as migration, drug problems, aging and health and health and equality.
