Captain's interest in the environment led to Navarino Environmental Observatory 2013-09-17 Greek shipping magnate Captain Constantakopoulos (1935-2011) was an early advocate of environmental issues, and thanks to his dedication, we now have the Navarino Environmental Observatory (NEO). The research station is a collaboration between the ecotourism company Temes – which was founded by the captain himself – Stockholm University, and the Academy of Athens.
