If you are staying in Sweden for less than six months and have access to internet banking or a credit card with your home bank, the fees from that account might in total be less than the costs of an account in Sweden.

You are welcome to open an account anywhere, but some banks, like SEB, have been more willing to accept international and exchange students as customers. Therefore, we suggest that you contact one of their offices:

  1. Stockholm city– Odengatan 71 (Odenplan)
  2. Stockholm city– Sergels torg 2
  3. Stockholm north– Nybrogatan 39 (Östermalmstorg)
  4. Stockholm south– Medborgarplatsen 3 (Söderhallarna)

General Opening Hours

Swedish banks are generally open only between 10.00 and 15.00, but they normally have one evening a week with extended opening hours.
