About me
Head of Policy at the Baltic Sea Centre
My mission is to bridge the gap between research and policy.
Each day, political decisions are made locally, regionally, and within various EU forums, which affect the Baltic Sea.
Presently, there is a huge amount of scientific knowledge on marine ecosystems that does not sufficiently interact with policy making. The Baltic Sea Center's mission is to ensure that decisions relating to the Baltic Sea environment are based on science. To achieve this the gap between sceience and policy must be bridges.
My background is in agriculture but I have worked with a wide range of envronmental aspects throughout the years.
I was educated at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and Cornell Univ in the United States.
My main professional background has been at the interface between science and advocacy work, latest before I joined SU in 2016, at the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (SSNC). My most recent role there was as head of the department of marine and agriculture issues and law.
