To get the best possible name for our new learning management system, a name contest was held from September 13 to October 15. Both students and employees were invited to submit their best suggestions and there was a lot of interest in contributing. Thank you to all who joined in the competition!

We received 106 suggestions and eight suggestions made the shortlist that the project's reference group got to vote on.

The criteria specified for the competition were that the name should be short, easy to pronounce in Swedish (and also in English) and may be linked to learning, collaboration, education or university.

The winning name is Athena, which will be the name of the university's new learning management system.

Athena is the goddess of wisdom, civilization and science in Greek mythology. She is often portrayed together with an owl.

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, has been notified separately.
