Accommodation for visiting researchers

Once you have decided to visit Stockholm University for your research, it is a good idea to start looking for somewhere to live as soon as possible. Stockholm University lets and manages a number of furnished rooms and flats owned by other landlords in Stockholm. These are available to foreign researchers with a doctoral degree, doctoral candidates and PhD students at Stockholm University.

Apply for the queue

To be able to receive housing from us, you need to apply for the accommodation queue. Please read more information about who can apply and the application process. Please note that the queue is long, so we cannot offer accommodation to all that apply. Therefore it is important to apply as soon as possible.

Finding housing on your own

Since there is a big shortage of accommodation in Stockholm, it can be a challenge to find accommodation. However there are several things you can do in order to be as prepared as possible. We have compiled a list of housing links and information about housing agencies that could be useful.
