Scholarship schemes
In association with the introduction of fees for students from outside of the EU/EEA/Switzerland, the government proposes has established two scholarship schemes.
The first scheme is aimed at students in the twelve countries that Sweden has a long-term development partnership with. These countries are Bangladesh, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia.
For more information about these scholarships, please see www.studyinsweden.se/Scholarships.
The second scholarship scheme is aimed at especially qualified students coming from countries outside of EU/EEA/Switzerland. Central funding is distributed to universities and university colleges who will in turn award funding to individual students. These scholarships cover only tuition fees, which means that students will need to cover their own living costs, which currently amount to SEK 7,300 per month for ten months of the year. Stockholm university offers scholarships within this category. Read more about our scholarship scheme here
