Apply for housing
In order to be able to apply for housing you need to be an exchange student. There is unfortunately no possibility for masters or free-movers to get accommodation through the Housing Office.
Exchange students apply for accommodation on the general registration form (students coming on an Erasmus agreement, Nordplus, Linnaeus-Palme or on a departmental agreement) or via the on-line application form for exchange students (students coming on a central-wide university agreement, North2North and Nordlys). These forms will be provided to you by the International Coordinator at Stockholm University (or from your home university). You will need no extra application form for accommodation! Please note that the Housing Office can not guarantee housing for all incoming exchange students. If you get informed that you have not received accommodation through the Housing Office, you should start searching for something on your own immediately, since the housing situation in Stockholm is extremely difficult.
The application should be sent to the International Coordinator at your host department at Stockholm University. The Housing Office at the International Office will receive your application from the Department once you have been accepted. The registration form (for students coming on an Erasmus agreement, Nordplus,Linnaeus-Palme or on a departmental agreement) or the on-line application form for exchange students (students coming on a central-vide university agreement, North2North and Nordlys) is your application for accommodation, you do not need any other form for applying for housing.
To find out more about the different housing areas that Stockholm University has to offer, please have a look at housing areas. Please note that there is no possibilty to choose a specific area, you can only choose between a studio apartment or a student room in a corridor with a shared kitchen
Deadline for application:
- 15 May for the autumn semester 2012
- 15 October for spring semester 2013
If you are applying through an Erasmus, Nordplus, Linnaeus-Palme or departmental agreement, the application (registration form) should be sent to the respective coordinator at the Department. List of coordinators
If you are applying through a central-vide university agreement, North2North or Nordlys, you apply for housing in the on-line application.
Late applications will only be considered if we have free rooms.
