Preparing to return home
Here are some guide lines that you as an exchange student need to think about before you go back home. Make sure you have read and done everything that is asked of you before you go back to your home country.
Cleaning
When you leave, you are responsible for the final cleaning of your accommodation. Do not forget that cleaning also includes the shared facilities that you have access to, such as kitchens, study rooms, common rooms, etc. Cleaning instructions for your particular accommodation can be found on the back side of your housing contract. We expect you to follow the cleaning instructions to the letter and that you leave your accommodation completely clean. If you have not cleaned your room properly we will hire a cleaning company and you will have to pay a cleaning fee of 1500 SEK.
Keys
When departing you must leave the keys at the Housing Office at the International Office before 09:00 on June 15 at the latest. If you have a friend returning your key please keep in mind that you are still responsible for the key being returned on time - no exceptions! If you (or a friend) fail to hand in the key on time you will be charged a fee of SEK 2300 (the cost for a lock change). Please note that the key cannot be dropped off anywhere else than at the Housing Office at the International Office at Stockholm University.
The doors into the Student Service where the Housing office is located is open Monday-Friday between 08.00-17.00. If there is nobody in the Housing Office when you come to return the key you can drop it in the red key box outside the door. Should you do so please make sure the address tag is still attached to the key.
Inspection
When you have cleaned your accommodation, an inspection will take place after the semester ends. This is to ensure that your room has been cleaned properly. If you have not cleaned your room properly we will hire a cleaning company and you will have to pay a cleaning fee of 1500 SEK.
