Application dates

There are two application periods each year for higher education in Sweden. The first application period – for courses and programmes beginning the following spring – runs from June to August, while the second period – for courses and programmes beginning the following fall/autumn – runs from October to the middle of January. Details of the exact dates vary each year.

Below you can find important information concerning application dates for courses and programmes at first and second cycle (undergraduate and master's degree levels) courses and programmes.

General information concerning application dates

Final application dates for programmes/courses starting in the autumn:
January 16 – Master programmes for applicants outside Sweden
April 15 – Master programmes for applicants within Sweden

These dates apply for courses at undergraduate/master's level (first and second cycle, includes undergraduate and master's levels according to the Bologna Convention).

For programmes/courses starting in the spring:
August 1 – Master programmes for applicants outside Sweden
October 15 – Master programmes for applicants within Sweden

Applies for courses at undergraduate level (first and second cycle, includes undergraduate and Master's levels according to the Bologna Convention).

Important dates for application to programmes starting autumn 2012

• 16 January 2012: Admission application deadline
• 1 February 2012: Deadline for receipt of supporting academic documents (all applicants) and documentation of fee exempt status (if required)
• 1 February 2012: Deadline for receipt of application fee (if required)
• Middle of March 2012: First Notification of Selection Results
• 2 April 2012: Last date to reply to your offer
• Middle of April 2012: Second Notification of Selection Results (no reply required)
