P- and T-numbers

P- and T-number is already generated for every student being accepted by Stockholm University.

Why do I need a P- or T-number?

The P- and T-number is an administrative number that is generated for you in order for Stockholm University to register you on courses, register results, receive a student e-mail account, copy card and a library card.

What is the difference between a P- and T-number?

Exchange students receives a P-number. An exchange student will have the P-number throughout their stay at Stockholm University (P=Permanent).

International students staying more than one year receives a T-number. An international students will have the T-number temporary (T=Temporary). After arrival students staying for more than one year should immediately go to the Swedish Tax Office to receive a Swedish Identity Number. A Swedish Identity Number entitles you health care and other benefits for the same price as locals.

How do I get my P- or T-number?

If you do not know your P- and T-number then you can contact your departemental coordinator or the person who sent you the Letter of Acceptance.

Can I use my P- and T-number for anything outside Stockholm University?

No. The P- and T-number is an administrative number that is generated for you in order for Stockholm University to register you on courses, register results etc.
