Housing for Exchange Students
As a special service Stockholm University tries to assist students from partner universities with accommodation. Stockholm University does not own any student dormitories and does not normally organise accommodation for students. A special exception is made for exchange students from Universities with which Stockholm University has a signed co-operation agreement and students who receive scholarship via Stockholm University Scholarship Scheme. The accommodation can be rented for a maximum of 2 semester.
The Housing Office manages a limited number of corridor rooms and studio apartments in Stockholm. Unfortunately, due to the high demand and shortage of accommodation in Stockholm, we cannot guarantee accommodation for every exchange student and we cannot provide housing for students with children or students who are doing an Erasmus internship (or any other internship).
Uppdated information: Exchange students and student who have received scholarships via Stockholm University Scholarship Scheme will receive information via e-mail between May 25-29 on how to apply for accommodation for the autumn semester 2015. You cannot apply for accommodation any other way!
Arrival days for the autumn semester 2015 is Saturday August 22 and Sunday August 23. Keys will be handed out between 12:00-18:00 at Södra Huset at Campus Frescati.
All rent contract for the autumn semester 2015 will start on August 22, 2015 and end on January 15, 2016 (room keys must be returned by 18:00 on January 15). The Housing Office will inform all students that have received housing where and when to pick up the keys and sign the rent contract. If you are not sure where to go please contact the Housing Office: firstname.lastname@example.org
Your housing contract is signed for one semester at a time. If you spend the entire academic year (i.e. autumn-spring semester or spring-autumn semester) as an exchange student, you can choose to extend your current rent contract for another semester. You will receive information by email from the Housing Office on how to proceed, before the autumn semester has come to an end. At the most you can receive housing for 2 semesters (no exceptions).
International master students can only apply for housing through the Last minute housing lottery that will be held during August 24-26. More information about the lottery will be posted on this website on August 15.
