The group studies aspects of translation initiation factor IF1 and its role in translation iniation and as a tool for plasmid stabilization in the absence of antibiotic selection.
The role of the translational initiation factor IF1 in E. coli is studied by using mutants in the factor and their interactions with particular suppressor mutations in ribosomal RNA.
