Price list for visitors from Stockholm University

This price list apply to marine researchers, students and courses at Stockholm University, including project collaborators at University of Helsinki and Tvärminne Zoological research station.

Stay at Askö

Cost for research, field work, courses or marine meetings and workshops.

NOTE: PhD students can apply for a Askö grant for stay and materials utilisation.

  • Cost per person and day: 110 SEK
  • Cost per person and night: 110 SEK
  • Students from Swedish universities performing field work within a degree project (up to three months): 0 SEK
  • Courses have an additional fee for each started week: 500 SEK

This is included:

  • Transportation between Uttervik-Askö with regular boat-rides
  • Sleeping accommodation in single or double rooms, (bedsheets are not provided)
  • Access to (if requested in your application):
    • Mess hall, auditorium with powerpoint projector, library and common rooms.
    • Desk with computer and WiFi
    • Laboratory with brackish water supply and lab equipment
    • Field- and sampling equipment
    • Small boats (requires an introduction at the station)

Transportation to/from Uttervik

Guests are not required to pay a transport fee on our regular boat-rides (twice a day). Additional departures are offered, but limited to available staff and time.

  • Additional boat-ride: 800 SEK

Climate rooms and experimental hall:

  • 50 SEK/day and project/experiment setting (no fee for courses)

Assistance:

  • Assistance in field sampling, transportation with all-terrain vehicle, workshop service, construction work etc, depending on available staff and time. 350 SEK/h + material cost
  • Collection of material such as fish, mussles, sediment, water etc.
    Fee according to agreement.

Special equipment:

  • Underwater footage with our ROV. Fee according to agreement.

Guided tour:

  • Pre-booked visits (contact Eva Lindell) are offered a guided tour at the research station. Cost 2 000 SEK for a 1-2 hour visit. This includes a tour at the station, information about the Askö laboratory's history and current research.
