Ships and boats
Ships

On the Askölaboratory there are a couple of boats and vessels. They can be used for research, education and marine monitoring. They are also used to transport people from and to the island. Askö employed skippers are always responsible on the ships, and will drive them.
- R/V Aurelia (17 m, speed 9,5 knots, max. 35 passengers)
Crane, hydraulic wince, navigation equipment, sonic depth sounder, laboratory space, bunk-beds, pantry, WC and a shower.
- R/V Limanda (12 m, speed 17 knots, max. 12 passengers)
Big working space, crane, hydraulic wince, navigation equipment, sonic depth sounder and WC.
- R/V Larus (12 m, speed 15 knots, max. 12 passengers)
Crane, hydraulic wince, radar, sonic depth sounder, GPS and a cabin.
Other boats
Fuel can be ordered at the laboratory. Remember to inform the staff before you use the boats!
- Sprattus (8,1 m, 30 knots, 11 p.)
Mostly used for fast transports, always driven by Askö skippers.
Can be used for diving and to use our Falcon Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV).
- Perca, diving boat, (5m, 25 knots)
Licence and experience is necessary. Equipped with portable nautical chart.
- 4 small motordriven boats
- 2 rowing boats
