I teach on several of the courses at EMB, including
- Management of Aquatic Resources in th Tropics 1hp (course leader)
- Marine Biology 15hp (course leader)
- Ecology II 15hp (lecturer)
I also supervise BSc (kandidat) and MSc (master) projects in subjects relating to my own research field. If you are interested in doing your thesis with me as a supervisor, please contact me well in advance and we'll book a first meeting!
My research focuses broadly on understanding the causes and consequences of biodiversity and biodiversity loss, from genes to ecosystems. I am particularly interested in three themes;
i) how interactions between organisms are influenced by, and interact with, natural and anthropogenic abiotic factors (e.g. climate),
ii) how humans directly and indirectly affect ecological structures and processes that underpin vital ecosystem services, and
iii) how society should manage ecosystems and their services in changing environments.
