Om mig

I am a PhD candidate at the Department of Sociology, Demography Unit (SUDA). My dissertation focuses on the socio-economic stratification of single parenthood. My research is funded by the TITA project (Tackling Inequalities in Time of Austerity).

I adopt a life-course perspective into the interplay of socioeconomic inequality and single parenthood, with a focus on single fathers. I analyze both how family transitions are shaped by social background and socio-economic status as well as the socioeconomic outcomes of these transitions. Relying on Swedish and Finnish register data, I address the issue of identification of single fathers and single father households in population registers. In my first study I analyze the link between educational attainment and pathways into single fatherhood and single motherhood in Finland.
