Research interests

Social semiotics, multimodality, visual communication, discourse analysis, and literacy.

 

Presentation

Anders Björkvall has directed several research projects ranging from research on the semiotics of Ikea furniture to young children’s literacy activities at computers. Anders has previously been active as a researcher at the Research Centre in Communication and Culture: Trans/forming Cultures, University of Technology, Sydney, Australia. He is on the advisory board of the journal Designs for Learning and acts as referee for journals such as Social Semiotics and Visual Communication.
