We have become a new department: The Department of Swedish Language and Multilingualism

On January 1, 2013 we formed a new department consisting of the Department of Scandinavian Languages, the Center for Research on Bilinguaism and the Institute for Interpretation and Translation Studies. Our new name is the Department of Swedish Language and Multilingualism.

Our research

Current research in the unit that was the former Department of Scandinavian Languages largely fall under the following areas:

Contemporary Swedish language use in society
The Swedish language system
Swedish historical linguistics and philology.
