The keynote lecture “Theory building, theory borrowing” was given by Professor Gavin Lucas, University of Iceland, and was the start of three days of academic sessions at Aula Magna, Stockholm University campus. The conference theme “Archaeology as a source of theory” was discussed in some 140 papers on many different aspects of archaeological theory. Finally many participants spent a sunny Saturday taking part in excursions to archaeological sites in the Stockholm region.
