Continuing your studies

After completing a bachelor's degree in Japanese, there are two ways of continuing your studies at the Department, depending on your main interests:

If you want to deepen your knowledge of the East Asian region (Japan, China and Korea) you may study our Master's programme in Asian Studies, 120 ECTS. The programme is for students who, after their bachelor's degree in Korean, Japanese or Chinese, wants to deepen their language competence as well as their studies of the region of East Asia.

If you want to focus more on Japan and the Japanese language, you may study 60 credits on second cycle studies (of which at least 15 credits needs to be in the field of Japanese Studies), followed by the Master´s Course in Japanese, 60 ECTS. After finishing the Master´s Course, you obtain a Master's degree in Asian Languages and Cultures.
