The International Workshop on Cryosphere and Climate Change, will take place at Stockholm University, Sweden, on 26–29 August 2025.
This workshop will bring together cryosphere scientists to discuss the latest updates in permafrost, ice sheets, mountain glaciers and snow, sea ice, polar ocean science; draw connections to the policy implications of current and future loss; and identify the best ways that cryosphere scientists can contribute to global forums including UNFCCC processes such as COP30, the International Year of Glacier Preservation, and the Decade of Action for Cryospheric Sciences. There will also be special workshops, especially for Early Career Scientists, on science communications and how to write for policy makers.
The International Workshop on Cryosphere and Climate Change is the second in a series, following the Workshop on Cryosphere and Climate Change held in Beijing last year.
The workshop will take place alongside celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the Tarfala Research Station on 25–26 of August.
Some travel support is available, especially for early career researchers and speakers. The early registration deadline is July 15th. Please note that early registration is strongly encouraged, especially for those who need a letter of invitation or would like to inquire about travel support.
