The event, " Investigating a gender perspective in climate research" provided crucial platform for early-stage researchers in Bolin Centre for Climate Research to explore the intersection of gender and climate.

Many expressed that this event was their first in-depth exploration of these crucial issues, highlighting the importance of re-examining familiar topics from new perspectives.

The evaluation validated the experiences as researchers are commitment to learning, raising awareness, and bridging the gap between these essential perspectives.

 

Program highlights

Keynote talk: Un-culverting gendered subjects. Ecological Masculinities and Rights of Nature as ways to mitigate and adapt to climate change

Speaker: Associate Professor Martin Hultman
Professor Hultman's keynote address delved into the gendered aspects of the climate crisis, urging a transformation in our thinking. He introduced innovative approaches such as Rights of Nature and Ecological Masculinities.

These presentations highlighted the social differentiation of climate change effects and the role of gender, as well as the importance of realistic representations of social-ecological systems.
