Becoming a Teacher in Sweden
The Bridging Programme for Teachers Educated Abroad prepares teachers and pre-school teachers to work in Swedish schools and pre-schools. The program is taught in Swedish.
If you have a teaching degree for school or pre-school from another country, or an academic degree in a school subject, you might need to supplement that degree in order to become a certified teacher in Sweden. The Bridging Programme for Teachers Educated Abroad, also known as ULV, offers this opportunity.
If you are teacher from another country, you will learn what is specific to the Swedish school and fulfill national requirements to teach in Sweden.
If you have an academic degree in a school subject, you will study the pedagogigcal education in order to receive a Swedish teaching degree.
The aim of the education is for you to recieve a teaching certification from the National Agency of Education (Skolverket).
General requirements:
- Swedish as a second language 3
- A teaching degree or academic degree from another county than Sweden
More specific requirements can be found on the Swedish site and on each university's site, see Contact.
