From Inuit Studies to Circumpolar Studies: Issues, Topics and Debates

The Centre for Canadian Studies of Stockholm University is happy to launch the Northern Studies Journal Club with the Nexus Centre of Memorial University and the Robarts Centre for Canadian Studies of York University.
The journal club is based on the principle of interaction with first a short presentation of the topic by the main speaker and then a discussion. The participants read the texts before the session.

The language of the seminar is in English. The speakers for the seminar are Caroline Hervé (Université Laval), Anna Hudson (York University) and Frédéric Laugrand (Université catholique de Louvain).
Come and share with three members of the editorial committee of Études Inuit Studies on the potential academic shift from Inuit Studies to Circumpolar Studies. Why is this move necessary or preferable? How can this new vantage point help with addressing contemporary issues and new realities of the circumpolar world? How can Inuit Studies benefit from the growing field of Circumpolar Studies?
