The Language and Ethnography Research Group (LEG)

The Language and Ethnography Research Group (LEG) is an interdisciplinary research network for ethnographic research and linguistic ethnography as a method.

Over the years we have discussed anything from seminal articles on linguistic ethnography to articles about new theoretical concepts. In addition, the network participants regularly present their ongoing ethnographic research about language at our network meetings as well as collaborating in joint analysis sessions.

The network was formed in 2003 by Professor Marilyn Martin-Jones, who at the time was acting head of research at the Language Research Institute in Rinkeby, Stockholm, as well as a guest professor at the Centre for Research on Bilingualism at Stockholm University.

Since 2011 Carla Jonsson has been the network coordinator. The network gathers researchers from different universities in Sweden as well as hosting international researchers.
