Who is the seminar for?
This seminar is aimed att University staff involved in research supervision of doctoral students. You teach at Stockholm University or within the Stockholm trio.
About the seminar
Speaker is Klara Bolander Laksov.
In this seminar, we will explore the various challenges faced by both doctoral supervisors and students during the research journey. The aim is to provide practical insights and effective strategies for overcoming these challenges and ensuring successful doctoral supervision.
Attendees will engage in interactive discussions based on an analysis of challenges faced by supervisors at Stockholm university and construct a ‘board of advice’ to enhance their supervisory skills.
By the end of the workshop, attendees will be better equipped to address challenges, foster positive relationships, and guide doctoral students toward successful completion of their research projects.
About Klara Bolander Laksov
Professor Klara Bolander Laksov is director of Centre for the Advancement of University Teaching (CeUL) at Stockholm university. She has supervised 10 doctoral students within higher education and medical education. She has taught for several years at the doctoral supervision course at Stockholm University. She is the author of several papers regarding the development of teaching and learning in higher education, and how to create a learning culture in higher education departments.
