Gender equity, diversity and equal opportunity in teaching
In this workshop, we will explore web resources and key documents on gender equity, diversity, and equal opportunities from Stockholm University as well as other Swedish and international institutions. While our main focus will be on identifying tools that support university teachers in the classroom, we will also critically examine shortcomings in existing policies and discuss ways to make them more inclusive for all students and staff. One area of particular interest will be the extent to which these documents are trans-inclusive and, where they are not, how we might find inspiration for improvement. Participants are also welcome to approach the documents from other perspectives — for example, in relation to function or other dimensions of Equal Opportunity. We will conclude by considering how such policies shape our everyday interactions with students.
