This course focuses on practical teaching and is aimed at postgraduate students and researchers with little or no experience of teaching within the Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Social Sciences, or Faculty of Law.

Course content and structure
The main object of the course is to provide an opportunity for you to develop skill and confidence in your teaching by:
- getting acquainted with the regulations, rules and policies for university teaching
- discussing and reflecting on selected educational readings in higher education teaching and learning
- identifying core concepts of teaching and students’ learning in Higher Education
- observing a colleague’s teaching.
- planning different forms of teaching in your own discipline
This will all together provide a solid basis for your teaching. The course contains synchronous as well as asynchronous assignments and offers six mandatory interactive seminars which give you good opportunities to reflect on and discuss both your role as a teacher and the students’ learning processes.
The course corresponds to two weeks' full-time work, i.e. equivalent to 3 credits. The course is bilingual with English as the primary language of instruction. Swedish or English can be used for written assignments.

Terms and conditions: Participation is free of charge for all employees at Stockholm University. Your application is processed within a few working days. Once your application has been processed, you'll be notified via the booking system about your admission status. After that your registration is binding. In case of cancellation later than four weeks ahead of the course your department will be debited a cancellation fee of 2 000 SEK. By signing up you confirm that your registration is approved by the Head of (your) Department or equivalent.
