Professor Carolyn Jackson, a renowned researcher in the field of gender and education from Lancaster University will join our next network meeting on gender and equality in higher education teaching.

Carolyn, together with Vanita Sundaram (The University of York), has recently published the book ‘Lad Culture in Higher Education: Sexism, sexual harassment and violence’ based on their SRHE-funded research project exploring university staff perceptions of ‘lad culture’ in England.

During the network session we will consider results and experiences from English higher education and discuss how the authors’ analysis also intersects with experiences in the Swedish university system.

Join the meeting on the 25 of May at 14—16

The Network Gender and Equality in Higher Education

The Network Gender and Equality in Higher Education (Nätverket för genus och jämställdhet i högre utbildning) is for university teachers interested in gender and equality in teaching. We also welcome researchers, postgraduate students and administrative staff with an interest in these issues.

The focus of the network

The Network for Gender and Gender Equality in Higher Education wants to provide an opportunity to discuss challenges and experiences of teaching and working at the university from a gender and gender equality perspective. The network wants to create opportunities for dialogue and  to share experiences as a teacher and employee at the university.

We are particularly interested in exploring what gender equality means in a higher education pedagogical perspective.
