While research on motivation to learn has flourished in the last two decades and books on the subject have become bestsellers, it is not clear how much attention higher education research has devoted to such advances.

In this interactive session you will gain an overview and practical experience of applications of robust research results - some pretty predictable, others quite contra-intuitive — aimed at increasing student motivation to learn. You will be provided with you at least three strategies that can be customized for use in your own teaching and / or academic leadership work together with other useful resources and references.

Expert teaching strategies and techniques for efficient qualitative learning in the classroom
