Welcome to a workshop on teaching and learning with Centre for the Advancement of University Teaching (CeUL).

This workshop is aimed towards teachers at Stockholm University who are using active learning methods in their teaching or are interested in in this type of teaching. For you who want to use the new ALC-rooms in a way that supports your students learning.

About the workshop

One of the constant issues in all forms of education is how to plan teaching in such a way as to activate, challenge and motivate students. Lectures and text seminars can be enriched with more interactive and collaborative forms of teaching where the students get opportunities to grapple with more complex tasks in the form of scenarios, case studies or problems where theories and practice meet.

Active Learning Classroom (ALC) is an educational concept that utilizes physical spaces and technologies such as whiteboards and interactive screens to promote student learning. Since January 2020 Stockholm University has an ALC room in Södra huset and four additional classrooms are now available in campus Albano.

In this workshop you will expand your knowledge about how to use the ALC rooms and the educational theories that are the basis for various forms of active learning.

CeUL offers workshops for all teachers at Stockholm University on a variety of teaching and learning topics. They are designed to meet the needs of both seasoned professionals and newcomers. Each session offers the opportunity to discuss shared experiences and knowledge with colleagues.
