About the workshop

This workshop will address the concept of ‘internationalisation’ in higher education, its development and what it entails to date. A holistic approach to ‘internationalisation’ will be presented and different aspects related to working with internationalisation of the curriculum at home as well as mobility will be presented.

During the workshop we will

  • Discuss the concept of ‘internationalisation’ in relation to policy strategies
  • Review the development of the concept of ‘internationalisation’ in higher education’
  • Discuss the implications for developing international understanding and intercultural competence, for students, faculty and staff, through mobility and ‘at home’
  • Explore how to enhance the quality and diversity within programs by involving mobility of students, academic- and administrative staff
  • Consider aspects of an increased focus on ‘internationalisation of the curriculum’ and related learning outcomes
  • Identify opportunities for integrating an international/intercultural perspective in our own teaching and learn how to teach in a culturally sensitive manner to create rich learning experiences for all students
  • Design case material for your own settings
