Welcome to a workshop on teaching and learning with Centre for the Advancement of University Teaching (CeUL).

This workshop is aimed for teachers and course directors at Stockholm University

About the workshop

Case-based teaching engages students in discussion of specific scenarios that resemble or typically are real-world examples. The method is applicable in a wide range of settings and disciplines, from business to bioethics. The method is learner-centered with intense interaction between participants as they build their knowledge and work together as a group to examine case material and engage in problem-identification, negotiation and problem-solving.

During the workshop we will

  • Discuss the case method
  • Discuss literature on case method in different disciplines
  • Learn experiences from a multi-disciplinary case in bioethics
  • Identify opportunities for case teaching in your own teaching
  • Design case material for your own settings
