Welcome to a workshop on teaching and learning with Centre for the Advancement of University Teaching (CeUL).

Useful for teachers and assistants who want to try out and practice various ways of interacting with students in challenging situations. Previous experience of teaching is not required.

About the workshop

In this workshop we shall try out some ways of dealing with some of the challenging situations that the participants expect to find themselves in while teaching. The workshop will take the form of role play based on Forumrollspel. No-one will be on their own when playing the role of a teacher. All participants will be able to play cards such as “rewind”, “pause for discussion”, and so on. The workshop offers you a chance to strengthen your confidence in your role as teacher.

Participants will develop their ability to deal with a variety of situations that can arise in teaching and they will strengthen their confidence in their role as teacher.

To participate in the workshop you will need: A computer with the Zoom e-meeting service installed (see guide on how to install an log into Zoom) and a headset with microphone

In advance each participant should describe and submit a scenario that they would like to work on.
