Vessel fleet at Askö Laboratory

At Askö aboratory there are many boats and vessels that ensure research for many purposes in a large geographical area. They can be used for research, education and marine monitoring. They are also used to transport people from and to the island. Askö's skippers are always drivers and have responsibility of the ships.

  • R/V Limanda (12 m, speed 17 knots, max. 12 passengers)
    Big working space, crane, hydraulic wince, navigation equipment, sonic depth sounder and WC.

Other boats

Fuel can be ordered at the laboratory. Remember to inform the staff before you use the boats!

  • Sprattus (8,1 m, 30 knots, 11 p.)
    Mostly used for fast transports, always driven by Askö skippers.
    Can be used for diving and to use our Falcon Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV).
  • Perca, diving boat, (5m, 25 knots)
    Licence and experience is necessary.
  • 3 small motordriven boats
  • 1 rowing boats
