Oak trees in the Stockholm and Uppsala region have been suffering from severe outbreaks of the insect pest Acrocercops brogniardella (a leaf miner) for several years now.

In this project, we want to understand the spatial and temporal variation in outbreak dynamics of this insect pest. For this, we will focus on the potential of natural enemies (parasitoids) to reduce these outbreaks.

The project work includes both fieldwork and experimental labwork. Many interesting learning opportunities are involved!

Start of the project: Spring 2021
