Isotope Analysis of Carbon, Nitrogen, and Sulphur

We conduct isotope analysis on carbon, nitrogen, and sulphur isotopes primarily from bone, teeth, and antlers.

Isotope analysis can provide valuable insights into various aspects such as diet, residency, mobility, contacts, and life histories.

Samples sent for isotope analysis do not require any specific preparation. However, we recommend documenting the samples before sending them to us, as the sampling process is destructive. Please ensure each sample submitted enable us to remove a quantity between 50 and 100 milligrams.

When analysing diet, it's essential to include reference samples from different animals within the same context as the samples to be analysed. These reference samples are critical for making meaningful comparisons and interpretations based on the isotope data.
