The department offers education and research in unique environments at several different laboratories and excavation-courses. The department is one of the leading research areas at Stockholm University.
The Department of Archaeology and Classical Studies was created through a merger in 2005 of, the Department of Archaeology and the Department of Classical Archaeology and Ancient History.
The new volume "Broken Bodies, Places and Objects: New Perspectives on Fragmentation in Archaeology" was published via Routledge on the 29th of November.
