We have research and education within the Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages, as well as area studies.
There are various opportunities to study abroad during your education at the Department of Asian, Middle Eastern and Turkey Studies.
At our department you can study four different languages

All teaching and examination at the department will be net-based during the period from the 17th of January until the 11th of February 2022.
Ewa Machotka, Associate Professor at the Department of Asian, Middle Eastern and Turkish Studies of Stockholm University is co-organizer and speaker at the Sophia Symposium 2021: Urban Nature, Urban Culture: Rethinking Water in Japan’s Cities.
On 9 September the exhibition Manga: Reading the Flow, opened at Museum Rietberg in Zürich.
Ekaterina Malik's dissertation is postponed. A new date will be announced shortly.
