CIVIS-KF Korean Studies E-School Consortium 2023-2024

Korean studies centers of five universities belonging to the CIVIS network have launched a three-year program of online courses (2021-2024).

The project is financed by the Korea Foundation within the KF Global e-school program. Besides five online courses per year, an annual Summer School for graduate students will be held with support from Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen.

The purpose of the CIVIS-KF Korean Studies E-School Consortium is to increase collaboration between the universities of the consortium listed below, creating opportunities for students and teachers to meet, exchange and collaborate. In accordance with this premise, the main objectives of the CIVIS-KF E-School consortium are:

  • offering various E-School courses in Korean Studies
  • offer an intensive teaching experience; promote the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and proposals on specific topics, stimulate new ideas and animate debates
  • enhance the digital mobility of the CIVIS students to nurture an international mentality among students
  • create links between partner universities, academic staff, and students, also offering opportunities for networking
  • support collaborations or structured strategies in the field of learning and research

Courses during Fall 2023 and Spring 2024

In the autumn term of 2023 Stockholm University will give a course on North and South Korean relations in which students from the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and the University of Aix-Marseille will participate.

Students from Stockholm University will have the opportunity to attend a course on Everyday Korean History taught at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen in the autumn term of 2023, and in the spring term of 2024 they can attend a course on the History of Buddhism in Korea at the University of Aix-Marseille.
