Ragnhild Lunnan new member of the Young Academy of Sweden
Ragnhild Lunnan, an assistant Professor at the Department of Astronomy at Stockholm University, was elected today as a
member of the Young Academy of Sweden. The Young Academy of Sweden is an academy for prominent young researchers in Sweden. It is an interdisciplinary academy, comprising researchers from a broad range of different subjects. It was established by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences but works independently as a platform to strengthen the voice of young researchers. Ragnhild was welcomed into the Young Academy of Sweden together with nine other young researchers from different disciplines.
Ragnhild’s research focuses on supernovae, which are stars that explode at the end of their lifetimes. Her focus is on the extreme supernovae, where she investigates how the largest stars in the Universe explode and what the processes behind the brightest supernovae might be.
